Invitation to Vzajemna Open 2018 – Volley Club Portorož

The beach volleyball caravan will make another stop in Portorož between 16 and 18 August 2018. The international tournament Vzajemna Open 2018, under the auspices of MEVZA and the Slovenian Volleyball Federation, will take place on the courts of the Central Beach in Portorož and on the courts at Marina Portorož.

Entries

Competition	Teams in the main draw
Men	32
Women	29

This means a large number of matches and a lot of sporting enjoyment for spectators and volleyball enthusiasts.

Where they play

This year’s Vzajemna Open will take place at both locations on all three competition days, with the exception of the semifinal and final matches, which will be held on Saturday from 2 PM onward on the Central Beach in Portorož.

Last year

Last year’s tournament hosted outstanding teams, including the Czech men’s team Perušič/Schweiner, then ranked 20th in the world, the Italian men’s team Caminati/Rossi, then ranked 38th, and the Polish team Kociolek/Gromadowska, whose first player, with her partner at the time, was ranked 40th in the world beach volleyball rankings.

This year’s field

This year’s lineup will also be varied. The home teams will compete with all their strongest assets, which fills us with hope that, for the first time in the tournament’s history, an overall win in one of the categories will stay on home soil.

Invitation

Dear friends of beach volleyball, we invite you to join us between 16 and 18 August 2018 in the stands of the beach volleyball centre on the Central Beach in Portorož and at the beach volleyball centre at Marina Portorož. The semifinal and final matches will be held on Saturday, 18 August 2018, on the Central Beach in Portorož.

Come and cheer on our teams, or simply enjoy the matches, which are sure to add some refreshment to the hot summer days.
